We would like to thank the young people of Larkhall and Universal Connections for helping us with this project. A lot of personal time was given to the project in the way of visits and research. Thank you to all those young people involved. It wasn't always easy but they helped pull everything together. A few words from them.
Being part of Universal Connections from its opening I felt it was time to give something to them. I volunteered to help in the project as I felt it would be good for me to be involved in this. I live near the Glen and have seen it being abused over the years but felt I was not able to something. As part of the group I have been and will make sure that my interest in this community project continues. I am looking forward to the next phase of the project and the introduction of a Garden designed by us.
I have been a regular user of the Universal Connections centre in Larkhall since it opened and have enjoyed many good nights in the centre. I was asked if I wanted to be part of a team involved in the Morgan Glen Project. As a young person and a user of the Glen I was delighted to be involved. The three group members mentioned, Stuart McAllister and Vicky Walls form Universal Connections, visited Morgan Glen to see how much rubbish had been dumped by fly tippers. I visited the area last week to see how the clean up project was going, it was a completely different area. I am pleased to have been involved in such a highly publised community project.
Through my friend Kirsty Russell I was asked to help out in a community project to help clean up Morgan Glen. It was a chance for me to put something back into the community and too help others. I have played an active part by doing research with Paul on the history of the area. I am pleased to have been involved in this project.
